The 100 Million Project is how the Campaign is working to galvanize and support the work that helps advance the industry toward the 100 Million Goal of helping 100 million families lift themselves out of extreme poverty.
How is the Campaign Reaching the 100 Million Goal?
The Microfinance industry confirmed its dedication to achieving a world free of extreme poverty by 2030 by adopting the 2013 Partnerships against Poverty Summit Declaration at last year’s Microcredit Summit. The Declaration states that the end of extreme poverty can and will be reached! It’s an audacious goal and one that will take a broad coalition to achieve. Campaign members are building that coalition through Campaign Commitments.
Campaign Commitments are specific, measurable, and time-bound actions that Campaign Members will take to support the 100 Million Goal, which is a key step in reaching the end of extreme poverty by 2030. We know many organizations already maintain a vision of ending poverty – the aim of this coalition is to tie visions to actions and action to achievement. Joining the Campaign is more than just a statement; it is a matter of follow-through. 18 Commitments were launched at the 2013 Partnerships against Poverty Summit in Manila, and at this year’s 17th Microcredit Summit in Mexico, we will report on whether those Commitments were met.
