Rather than focus on one organization or network or highlight specific research, this paper will emphasize key opportunities and challenges that urban dwellers face alongside attributes and possibilities within the microfinance sector, particularly microfinance institutions, that can be leveraged to serve such individuals. The last section of the paper will list organizations and research studies helpful to exploring these issues further.
