Welcome to the latest issue of Countdown 2005, the newsletter of the Microcredit Summit Campaign. This issue features an interview with the President of Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Len Good, on CIDA's role in how Microcredit is shaping the 21st century. We have reprinted excerpts from the speech made by First Lady Hillary Clinton at the Beijing Plus Five Conference. The Action Plan presentation featured in this issue is that of Pro Mujer/Bolivia, a South American microcredit institution. This issue's Best Practices examines the key topic of recruiting, training and retaining excellent staff.
