Workshop Session: Depth of Outreach: The New U.S. Law Requiring Cost-Effective Measurement Tools

Remarks by Anton Simanowitz

…this session will focus on looking at depth of outreach in microfinance, poverty outreach, focusing on the new U.S. law requiring the use of cost-effective poverty measurement tools. We're going to look at the rationale for this and talk a bit about the process and the next steps. …This will give us a very rich sense of the debate, the issues involved, and give you all a chance to think about the relevance of this issue for USAID and USAID funding particularly for the microfinance industry, and what this means for you and your practice.
