On February 16, 2004, more than 1,200 participants from 47 countries gathered at the Asia/Pacific Region Microcredit Summit (APRMS) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This issue features plenary presentations of two practitioner Institutional Action Plans. Presentations were made by Shafiqual Haque Choudhury, President of ASA, Bangladesh and Prakash Bakshi, Chief General Manager of National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD) in India. The session was chaired by Kate McKee, Director of the Microenterprise Development Office at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
