Get Involved

There are many ways to participate in MCS programs, from expanding MCS' Web presence or building awareness of microfinance for the world's poorest families to attending a Summit. The Microcredit Summit Campaign provides various opportunities for everyone interested in getting involved.

Attend a Summit

The Microcredit Summit Campaign organizes regional and global conferences that bring together microfinance practitioners and stakeholders to promote best practices and catalyze action toward reaching our goals.

  • The most recent Global Microcredit Summit took place in Valladolid, Spain November 14-17, 2011. Go to our Summit website to download commissioned papers, and visit our video room to watch recordings of plenary sessions. 
  • The most recent Regional Summit, the Africa/Middle East Regional Microcredit Summit was held April 7-10, 2010 in Nairobi, Kenya. Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Muhammad Yunus among other world leaders in microfinance will attend this event. Read highlights from the Nairobi Summit. 

Expand MCS Web Presence

There are many ways to participate in the ongoing process of expanding the Campaign's web presence.

Connect through Social Networking - Join our social networks and actively partake in our online community and contribute by sharing your knowledge and views on the impact of the Microcredit Summit Campaign in ensuring that 175 million of the world’s poorest families, especially the women of those families, are receiving credit for self-employment and other financial and business services by the end of 2015 and that 100 million families rise above the US$1.25 a day threshold between 1990 and 2015.

Write about MCS on your Blog - You can help spread our programs by distributing information posted on this site. The MCS Secretariat Blog posts weekly on topics related to the Campaign and microfinance in general. You can start a blog, or contribute to the blog at microcreditsummitcampaignblog.blogspot.com. Just send us material and let us know that you would like to be added as an author. Invite friends to the blog, post a link to this site, take the materials to a local library, school, government official, or community organization.

Build Awareness

Join a RESULTS group - RESULTS has been in the business of exporting hope by mobilizing a vast and broad network of volunteer citizen activists for over 25 years. RESULTS volunteers, with the support of our staff in Washington, DC, get educated about the issues, get mobilized by focusing on the solutions and get inspired and trained to make their voices heard by the media, their communities and their members of Congress. There are many ways to participate in RESULTS, from taking an occasional monthly action to becoming an active volunteer or investing directly in the work we do to end poverty here at home and around the world.
